On Saturday 13th July, it will once again be Festival Day, followed on Sunday 14th by our 10.30am United Parish Service and Parish Lunch. I trust both dates are firmly in diary and heart. Do join us. You matter.

They began as many know in 1977 when the redoubtable Margaret Handley and many others decided to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee with 'Open Day' and raise funds for the restoration of the Saracen's Head. Church and community joined together and, the following day, stall-holders and others brought the proceeds of their work to a joint service.

In 1999, before officially arriving in September, Open Day was the first parish event I came to and (happily) met so many for the first time. It was lovely, my first KN scout burger, Immanuel's bric-a-brac stall, cakes, lunches, 'Pick-a-card', my first encounter with the skills of DJ Phil and so much more, all steered by many, especially Val Haynes, Gwen Fox and Chris Bowen....
