The Retirement of a Churchwarden
11th April 2011
The Rector writes,
"Stephen Plant has stepped down as Churchwarden after four years of faithful service, wisdom, warmth and prayer. We thanked him wholeheartedly at our Annual Parish Meeting. We are delighted that he is definitely not going away, being willing to remain as vice-chair of the PCC, a key person in our care of building and a faithful, prayerful friend.
He is also now part-time (unpaid) Chaplain of the Longbridge development, building care and partnerships which will influence our whole area and the church’s mission within it for many years to come.
Thank you Stephen so much. We’re all looking forward to the next part of the journey."
On Monday 11th April, the Annual Parochial Church Meeting elected Anne Hughes as Churchwarden, to replace Stephen and to serve alongside Paul Shelton.
