On Sunday 13th May our new Bishop of Birmingham is coming to Kings Norton for Confirmation - at 10.30am in St Nicolas. Bishop David’s first visit will enrich and inspire those who are to be confirmed - and help renew us all in our journey of faith.

From now until May 13th we invite you to share as you can in 'Stages on the Way'.

What are we inviting everyone to do?
We invite you to make the last Sunday of each month a day to be in church – at 10.30am at Immanuel or Hawkesley or at St Nicolas at 8am, 10.30am or 6pm.

• We invite you to pray for our growth together in God’s faith, love and hope.
• We invite you to share as fully as you can in the journey God calls us to.
• We invite you to make four key Christian texts your own – one each month.

The Four Key Texts:

1. Jesus’s Summary of the Law (Mark 12.28-34)
2. The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6.7-13)
3. The Apostles Creed – used in nearly all our services
4. The Beatitudes (Matthew 5.3-11)

We know the words – but we all need to know and live them fully in our heart.

On 28th January, 25th February, 25th March and 29th April, the text for the following month will be given prayerfully to everyone at each service – with an invitation to explore and make them our own as God leads each of us.

Every other part of our church’s life will continue;
Worship, service, learning, Confirmation preparation, Lent groups, outreach, giving renewal, care of people, resources and buildings.
But we need to let these texts, month by month, be in our hearts as we:

• Affirm and renew all that we hold in common in Christ
• Gratefully celebrate, encourage and deepen God’s rich variety here
• Draw in those who feel on the edge of church life
