Public Information : Free School Meals
In the interests of the many children of this parish who rely on free school meals, can we encourage you to write or speak to your local MP (firstname.lastname@example.org) to ask him to explain his reasons for voting as he did on this issue? His phone number is 0121 472 0740.
The Tear Fund Big Quiz
This year it is on Saturday 14th November and there are various ways you can join in. If you want to take part with others from the Parish, use the Zoom link available from the Parish Office or from the Parish Facebook page, where details will be posted the day before. Or, if you prefer, you can view it via a livestream link which will be posted on this page and our Facebook page the day before. Donations can be made direct to TearFund on their website, via the Parish Office by cash/cheque (clearly marked 'Quiz') or by bank transfer to the KNPCC account, again clearly referenced 'Quiz'. For all additional information, please contact The Reverend Jayne Crooks via the Parish Office.
St Nicolas' Church Now Open Twice a Week
Following Government advice that churches may open for public worship where it is safe to do so, the Parochial Church Council took the decision on 16th July to reopen St Nicolas' within certain limitations for one service a week on Sunday mornings. The full details of what to expect and how to book your place can be found by clicking the blue button. Please note that, for the time being, only 30 places are available at each service and they must be booked with the Parish Office by 12.00 noon on the previous Friday. Midweek, the church is open for private prayer on Wednesdays from 10.00 to 11.30 am, when advance booking is not required.
The Church of England continues to update its guidance regarding the procedures which must be followed in church. Please note that the wearing of face masks inside the building is now required by law. We have a supply of single use masks available in church. If you use one, we would ask that you take it home with your service sheet.
Meanwhile, we have continued to offer Sunday worship online throughout the Summer for those who are unable to come to church, either for health reasons or because of the limit on places at St Nicolas'. Our weekly videos will come to an end on 30th August. Suitable replacements are being considered.
You can watch the highlights of our first Sunday morning service since March, held on 19th July 2020, by clicking here.
