The Ministry Team

The Reverend Larry Wright

Rector

Larry oversees all aspects of mission and ministry in the team and links with civic and community organisations working to enrich the lives of residents in our neighbourhoods.

Pauline Weaver

Licensed Lay Minister

Pauline works closely with children and families. She is passionate about strengthening community ties and believes that being a good neighbour goes beyond the people next door.

The Reverend Mark Bennett

Honorary Assistant Priest

Mark works for the Diocese of Birmingham as a coach in clergy development. At St Nicolas', he leads the monthly evening service of Holy Communion with anointing and prayer for wholeness.

The Reverend Jayne Crooks

Honorary Assistant Priest

Jayne was ordained in 2004 and was a Team Vicar here. Now retired, she is working in a supportive role to the Parish Team, mainly as our weddings administrator.

Steve Wright

Lay Preacher

Born in Yorkshire, Steve is a retired teacher and youth worker with experience in the Methodist Church.

Fay Fearon

Reader

Fay is a Reader licensed to teach and to preach, to conduct funerals and to undertake pastoral work. She is an Assistant Warden of Readers in the Birmingham Diocese.

The Reverend David Booker

Curate

David is a member of the Church Army and is experienced in evangelism and youth work. He joined the team in 2022.

Ruth Howman

Reader

Ruth is a nurse and the mother of Sophie. She leads creative worship and more traditional services.

Cate Bennett

Reader

Cate is Birmingham born & bred. She trained and was licensed as a Reader in 2013 in Chester Diocese. In Kings Norton, she leads worship, preaches and takes funerals.

David Ash

Reader

David is a semi-retired teacher, a linguist, a photographer, and has been a Reader since 2013. He preaches, leads services, edits the Parish Magazine and manages the church's online presence.

Tom Spicer

Children & Families Mission Enabler

Tom works for the Diocese of Birmingham. In the parish, he focuses on the Hawkesley area, working closely with the primary academy and the local community.

Parisa Pordelkhaki

Reader

Originally from Iran, Parisa is a scientist who specialises in bioprocessing. She was licensed as a Reader in 2014 to lead worship, preach and teach. She joined the ministry team in 2017.
